Destiny 2: The Dawning 2022 – Bungie Help

The Dawning is a limited-time live event in Destiny 2 that celebrates the winter season and the spirit of giving. During the Dawning, Eva Levante brings her baking supplies and Holiday Oven for all players to use and create holiday gifts that can be given to vendors across the system. To create these gifts, players must defeat various enemies in unique ways to earn materials and use Eva's Holiday Oven to combine them into baked gifts.

Once new players have met the above requirements, they will unlock a Milestone telling them to speak with Eva Levante in the Tower Courtyard.

Materials and Recipes

Players will have to go out into the world to gather Materials and Essence of Dawning by defeating enemies and completing various activities. Once players have enough Materials, they can combine them in Eva's Holiday Oven to create tasty treats like Gjallardoodles and Dark Chocolate Motes. Players can find Eva's Holiday Oven in their Quests, view the Oven's details, and select the Materials they wish to combine.

Players can then give these holiday gifts to vendors across the system, depending on which of the following baked good has been created.

Bounties and Upgrades

After players create their first holiday gift and speak to Eva, her full inventory will open up, allowing players to obtain bounties, upgrades, and Event Card Challenges.

Bounties

Eva offers three different Dawning Bounties which will reward players for completing them:

Weekly Bounties will reward Essence of Dawning and Bright Dust
Daily Bounties will reward different Materials
Additional Bounties will reward Bright Dust and a random Material

All bounties offer XP and Dawning Spirit, and players can add supplementary rewards through certain Dawning upgrades.

Dawning Spirit

Additionally, players will collect Dawning Spirit by completing Event Card Challenges, activating Boons of Friendship, and delivering baked treats during the Dawning. Dawning Spirit can be exchanged at Eva for Dawning rewards, upgrades, and reward focusing.

Upgrades

Players can purchase a variety of upgrades using their collected Dawning Spirit. Upgrades will last for the duration of the event and provide bonus event rewards, add the ability to earn Dawning weapons with additional perks from Eva, and increase the power and utility of Stasis snowballs.

Two upgrades will allow players to focus rewards at Eva:

Giftwrapped Exchange Ticket upgrade
Limited Exchange Ticket upgrade

Focusing creates Unity Gift Exchanges and Edgy Gift Exchanges; both can be opened for targeted Dawning weapon drops. Focusing requires Dawning Spirit.

Event Card Challenges and Rewards

Event Cards are available for free to all players and can be accessed by interacting with Eva Levante in the Tower or via the Quests tab during live events. Rewards will be accessible throughout the event. Once the event ends, the Event Card rewards will not be able to be claimed.

Stasis Snowballs

This year, the Dawning gifts a snowy surprise to even more activities and locations! Piles of Stasis snowballs return to Europa and the weekly Nightfall strikes (excluding Grandmasters), and can now also be found across the Throne World, Dares of Eternity, the Derelict Leviathan, and scattered around all Vanguard Ops playlist activities.

Additionally, players can increase the power and utility of snowballs by purchasing upgrades from Eva using Dawning Spirit for added effects.
