Destiny 2 Archived Year 6 Known Issues and Vital Information

This is a sub-page of Destiny 2 Guided Support. The following are confirmed known issues that players may experience in Destiny 2 Year 6 beginning February 28, 2023. Updates to this list will occur when possible. For more information on Years of Destiny, please click here.

Disclaimer

This is not a complete list of all known issues, but a targeted list of specific issues.

Vital Information 

The following callouts contain important information that players should be aware of before logging in to Destiny 2.

  • Changing the platform setting "Others can communicate w/ voice, text, or invites"  does not take effect until the game has been restarted.
  • Players running Destiny with an integrated graphics card may encounter gameplay performance issues if the integrated graphics card does not meet the minimum required PC specs. 
    • Laptops with Intel 12th generation Iris integrated graphics may crash in high-demand environments. Players can mitigate these crashes by ensuring Windows 10 is set to use only discrete graphics when running Destiny 2 via Windows->Settings->Graphics Settings, and selecting "High Performance" for Destiny 2.
  • Players using the PlayStation 4 version of Destiny 2 who receive BOAR errors should ensure that they have successfully downloaded the necessary Compatibility Files prior to entering the game.
  • Season Passes will be applied to the first account that signs in. If you plan to Cross Save but will use another character set, it's recommended to set up Cross Save before logging in. For more information, click here.
  • The "Solo Legendary Lost Sectors" Guardian Rank objective can be completed with both Master and Legendary Lost Sectors.
  • The Powerful Friends and Radiant Light armor mods require at least 1 armor charge to activate.
  • To access Iron Banner, players must reach Guardian Rank 4, complete the Crucible introductory quest, then speak to Lord Saladin and complete the Iron Banner introductory quest.
  • Epic Games Store players receiving "Time Skew Maxed" and RUTABEGA errors may need to update their launcher. If this doesn't help, players may have to press the Escape Key repeatedly after selecting a character to skip the opening cinematic.

Top Issues Being Investigated

 

General

  • Some previous Season Pass items available in Eververse display incorrect Seasonal icons.
  • Gilding the Guardian Games title "Champ" does not increment the number of times Gilded counter.
  • Players who have text chat disabled due to certain settings will have text chat UI disappear entirely instead of displaying a disabled message.
  • Some face markings do not appear on Exos when selected.
  • Due to an issue, the animation for the Risky Archery Emote as been temporarily altered.
  • Chaos Reach does not apply Jolt at higher frame rates.

 

Fireteam Finder
  • Applications and Joins don't display a warning if members of the applying fireteam don't own a license to the target activity.

Items and Weapons

  • The Mindbender's Ambition shotgun no longer glows after dealing damage to enemies.
  • While Full-Auto Melee is active, glaives will almost always melee twice.
  • The Osmosis perk is not activating on some scout rifles.
  • Some weapons purchased from Banshee-44 may have a different masterwork than what was shown in the weapon preview.
  • Both the Laser Cutter ship's wings and portions of the the Afterglow Sparrow disappear when using certain shaders.

 

Quests and Triumphs

  • The Making the Rounds Triumph cannot be completed until the final week of Into the Light.

 

Activities

  • Onslaught bonus objective UI may overlap player buffs on the side of the screen.
  • Defeating the Tormentor too fast in the Arms Dealer strike can sometimes result in the elevator door not unlocking, blocking progress to finish the mission. 
  • In Onslaught, the switches to open the door to the boss may not activate, preventing the door from opening.
  • In Onslaught, Tripmines can destroy the Well of Radiance if placed directly in their path.
  • Capturing a zones in Collision may reduce available Super energy if at max.
  • Tormentors can move turrets in Onslaught when using their slam or grab attacks nearby.

  • The Deck of Whispers cards may appear to be flickering for Xbox Series X/S players.

 

General

  • On occasion, Eva's head may appear to be missing.

  •   High volumes of multi-kills can result in BIRD errors.

  • Veist Auto Rifles can be rotated partially off the screen while viewing them via the inspection page.

  • All of the Gilding Triumph’s descriptions incorrectly state that Title Gilding resets annually instead of every Season.

Activities

  • The game fails to award players with a Raid completion if Crota is killed at the same time his wipe timer expires.

Season of the Deep Known Issues and Vital Information

General

  • Season Passes will be applied to the first account that signs in. If you plan to Cross Save but will use another character set, it's recommended to set up Cross Save before logging in. For more information, click here.
  • The "Solo Legendary Lost Sectors" Guardian Rank objective can be completed with both Master and Legendary Lost Sectors.
  • The Powerful Friends and Radiant Light armor mods require at least 1 armor charge to activate.
  • To access Iron Banner , players must reach Guardian Rank 4, complete the Crucible introductory quest, then speak to Lord Saladin and complete the Iron Banner introductory quest.

 

Season of the Deep Content

  • The description for the Legend Salvage activity incorrectly states that matchmaking is available.
  • There is a scannable console during the Operation Thunderbolt (Twilight) mission . There is no intended audio, dialogue, or triumph related to this console.

 

Top Issues Being Investigated

 

General

  • Players can die from finishers if the enemy dies before the finisher animation completes.
  • We are investigating performance drops when loading the Eververse Store tab .
  • The Resilience stat is providing the previous tier's damage resistance when at a multiple of 10. 100 Resilience is correctly providing the intended benefit.

 

Error Codes

  • We are investigating an increase in PLUM error codes.

 

Cross-Play
  • Changing the platform setting " Others can communicate w/ voice, text, or invites " does not take effect until the game has been restarted.

 

PC

  • We're investigating reports of players unable to login through Steam and are stuck on the loading spinner.
  • We are investigating reports of issues related to low performance on PCs .
  • Players running Destiny with an integrated graphics card may encounter gameplay performance issues if the integrated graphics card does not meet the minimum required PC specs. 
    • Laptops with Intel 12th generation Iris integrated graphics may crash in high demand environments. Players can mitigate these crashes by ensuring Windows 10 is set to use only discrete graphics when running Destiny 2 via Windows->Settings->Graphics Settings, and selecting "High Performance" for Destiny 2.

Items and Weapons

  • The  Compass Rose shotgun is missing from Collections.
  • The Lord of Wolves exotic shotgun is missing a hip-fire reticle.
  • Using the Getaway Artist exotic Warlock gloves to refresh the Sentient Arc Soul before it fully de-activates causes the Arc Soul's rate of fire to decrease until it is allowed to fully de-activate.
  • After focusing an adept Trials weapon  from Saint-14, subsequent focuses do not display that the original requirement of having any 7-win Trials card is still present.
  • Destroyed tangles will not spawn Threadlings after a player grapples to a thrown tangle while using the Swarmers exotic Warlock legs. Players will need to unequip and re-equip the exotic for it to function correctly again.
  • Certain sights on the Judgement hand cannon have lost their red dot.
  • Some players are unable to acquire new Trials of Osiris  rewards.
  • The Guardian Games Luminous Paragon sparrow cannot be obtained from the Collections.
  • The Wish-Ender exotic bow is not reliably shooting through Cabal and Hydra shields.

 

Quests and Triumphs

  • Some Gilded titles are no longer Gilded and some associated Triumphs have been marked as incomplete.

Activities

  • Certain Honored Centurions in the Gilded Precept lost sector are abnormally bright.
  • Altar of Reflections memories  may not appear centered when viewed.
  • In the HyperNet Current strike , dying in the final boss arena can cause a player's Ghost to become stuck in the floor.
  • The Taken portal and heart at the end of the Last Wish raid can appear off to the side.

 

Season of Defiance

  • The Wish-Ender exotic bow is not reliably shooting through Cabal and Hydra shields.

 

Quests and Triumphs

  • The Guardian Games Champ title does not progress any Guardian Rank objectives for earning titles.
  • Some Gilded titles are no longer Gilded and some associated Triumphs have been marked as incomplete.

Activities

  • In the HyperNet Current strike , dying in the final boss arena can cause a player's Ghost to become stuck in the floor.
