    • Eververse Items, such as Emote Mystery Bags or Sterling Treasure, that are available as possible activity rewards are still be available to earn on Legacy Consoles.
    • Players that return to playing on a Legacy Console after importing their account to the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, will no longer share progress between the two console generations, including Eververse items purchased with Silver on either console.
    • Legacy Console players that have imported their account should ensure that they are purchasing Eververse items for the intended console.

Upgrading from a Legacy Console

Players wishing to upgrade from a Legacy Console to PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will need to meet the following requirements to maintain access to their Destiny content, characters, and progress:
    • Must upgrade within the same console family
    • Must login to Destiny using the same PSN ID or Xbox Gamertag
    • Must perform an Account Import beginning August 16th, 2016
    • May need to re-purchase some Destiny content for the new console

Account Import

All Legacy Consoles players upgrading to Destiny 1 on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One after August 16, 2016 will need to perform a one-time Account Import process upon their first login on a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One console.

Importing a Destiny 1 account from a Legacy Console

Once the Account Import process is performed, a player's account data is brought forward within the same console family and made playable in Destiny 1 on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One console. The Account Import process brings forward all of a player's account data into Destiny 1, including Character data, Progression data, Gear and Inventory, and purchased Silver and Eververse Licenses.
Note: Some items redeemed from codes may not be available for transfer across console generations. These items will persist in the player Inventory, but may not be accessible.

Playing on Legacy Consoles after Account Import

After the Account Import process is complete, any progress made on the Destiny 1 account will NOT be shared between console generations within a console family.
    • If a player imports their account and then returns to playing on a Legacy Console, any progress made on the Legacy Console will NOT be brought forward the next time they login to Destiny 1 on a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One.
    • If a player imports their account and makes progress on their Destiny 1 Character on a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, they will NOT be able to access that progress if they login on their account on a Legacy Console. The Legacy Console version of their account would be the same as it was at the time of the Account Import or the last time they played on the Legacy Console.

Performing the Import

Players will be prompted with the Account Import dialog upon their first login to Destiny 1 on a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One console.
    • Accepting the dialog will perform the Account Import.
    • Players MUST accept the dialog to be able to play on their Destiny 1 account on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
    • The Account Import is a ONE-TIME process that cannot be repeated.
    • Before accepting the dialog, players should ensure that they are ready to import their Destiny 1 account to the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One console.
    • Players that are not ready to perform the Account Import can cancel the dialog which will return them to the Start screen.
