Years of Destiny

A year in Destiny and Destiny 2 is the time span from the initial release of the game or expansion until the release of the next expansion.

Year 1

Year 1 refers to all content, features, and updates released from the launch of Destiny 2 (Sept. 2017) until the release of Forsaken (Sept. 2018).

  • Expansions and Campaigns: The Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind
  • Destinations: The Farm, European Dead Zone, Titan, Nessus, Io, The Leviathan, The Tower, Mercury, Mars

Year 2

Year 2 refers to all content, seasons, features, and updates released from the release of Forsaken (Sept. 2018) until the release of Shadowkeep (Oct. 2019).

  • Destinations: The Tangled Shore, The Dreaming City

Year 3

Year 3 refers to all content, seasons, features, and updates released from the release of Shadowkeep (Oct. 2019) until the release of Beyond Light (Nov. 2020).

Year 4

Year 4 refers to all content, seasons, features, and updates released from the release of Beyond Light (Nov. 2020) until the release of The Witch Queen (Feb. 2022). At the start of Year 4, certain destinations, campaigns, seasons, and items entered the Destiny Content Vault.

Year 3

Year 3 refers to all content, features, and updates released since the release of Rise of Iron (Sept. 2016) until the release of Update 2.3.1 for Xbox 360 and PS3 (July 2016) and Update 2.6.0.1 for Xbox One and PS4 (March 2017), which is the last update that Destiny will receive. More Info. here.
