Destiny 2: The Dawning – Guide – Bungie Help

The Dawning is an event in Destiny 2 that celebrates the winter season and the spirit of giving. During the Dawning, players can defeat enemies to earn materials and use Eva Levante's Holiday Oven to combine them into baked gifts.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT
New Light

Once new players have met the above requirements, they will unlock a Milestone telling them to speak with Eva Levante in the Tower Courtyard.

Materials and Recipes

Players will have to go out into the world to gather Materials and Dawning Essence by defeating enemies and completing activities. Once players have enough Materials, they can combine them in Eva's Holiday Oven to create tasty treats like Gjallardoodles and Dark Chocolate Motes . Players can find Eva's Holiday Oven in their Quests , view the Oven's details, and select the Materials they wish to combine.

Players can then give the following holiday gifts to characters across the system.

Bounties and Upgrades

After players create their first holiday gift, speaking with Eva will allow players to obtain bounties, upgrades, and Event Card Challenges.

Bounties

Eva offers three different Dawning Bounties which will reward players for completing them:

Weekly Bounties (2) will reward Essence of Dawning and Bright Dust
Daily Bounties (4) will reward different Materials
Additional Bounties will reward Bright Dust and a random Material

Dawning Spirit

Players will collect Dawning Spirit by completing Event Card Challenges, activating Boons of Friendship, and delivering baked treats. Dawning Spirit can be exchanged at Eva for Dawning rewards, reward focusing, and upgrades.

Upgrades

Upgrades will last for the duration of the event and provide bonus event rewards, add the ability to earn Dawning weapons with additional perks from Eva, and increase the power and utility of Stasis snowballs.

Stasis Snowballs

During the Dawning, the Snowstorm modifier will be active across a variety of activities. While this modifier is active, defeating combatants with weapons or abilities will have a chance to drop a Stasis Snowball. These snowballs can be picked up and thrown at enemies to deal damage and apply slowing effects.

Players can increase the power and utility of snowballs by purchasing upgrades from Eva.

Event Card Challenges and Rewards

Players will earn rewards by completing Event Card Challenges as well as opening or focusing A Gift in Return boxes. A Gift in Return boxes are sometimes received after delivering baked goods, or acquired from specific Event Card Challenges. These boxes can be opened directly for a variety of rewards, or can be directly focused with Eva for Dawning weapons.

Event Card

Event Cards are available for free to all players and can be accessed by interacting with Eva Levante in the Tower or via the Quests tab during live events. Rewards will be accessible throughout the event. Once the event ends, the Event Card rewards will not be able to be claimed.
