Season Passes give players access to new content within a Destiny 2 Season. Throughout a Season, players will gain access to a new story, tackle new challenges, complete new activities, and unlock new gear.
In Year 4 of Destiny 2, some seasonal content will persist beyond its Season if player's own that Season’s Season Pass. Players who don’t own that Season’s Season Pass and would like to access this content must purchase or upgrade to the Destiny 2: Beyond Light Digital Deluxe Edition. This content will be available until Year 4 ends.
Included in a Season Pass are Premium Track rewards for Seasonal Ranks which give players access to rewards earlier than the Free Track, with some rewards being exclusive to the Premium Track. More information about Season Pass Ranks can be found below.
A players Season Pass and its progression will be able to travel with a player via Cross Save. Players should enable Cross Save before applying the Season Pass to their account if they plan to play on multiple platforms or have multiple platform accounts.
Each Season Pass costs 1000 Silver and can be purchased during a specific Season. A Season Pass for a specific season can’t be purchased after that Season end sunless players purchase or upgrade to the Destiny 2: Beyond Light Digital Deluxe Edition.
Seasonal Ranks are available to all players and allow them to unlock rewards by playing Destiny 2 and earning XP. Each rank (up to 100) requires a certain amount of XP to unlock.
There are two tracks of a Seasonal Rank: Free and Premium. The Free track is available to all players regardless of what Destiny 2 content they own, whereas the Premium track is only available to players who own the current Season Pass. The Premium Track gives players access to rewards earlier than the Free Track, with some rewards being exclusive to the Premium Track.
Once a season ends, the ranks will reset, and players will be able to earn new rewards from the tracks for the next Season. Seasonal Ranks for previous Seasons are not available to players who purchase or access previous Seasons during Year 4.
Artifacts and Mods
Artifacts are available to all players and allow new ways to customize Guardian builds every Season by unlocking Seasons mods to insert in armor. Earning XP will level up the Seasonal Artifact, letting players unlock the mods in a tier until more tiers are unlocked.
Seasonal armor mods are used to elevate reload speeds, ability regen, and more, to higher levels. Starting in Season 12, armor will have a mod slot that accepts mods introduced into the game throughout a full year.
While leveling up and unlocking mods, players will also increase the Power of the Artifact, which will continue increasing until the end of the Season. Artifact Power adds directly to a player's overall Power and is unlocked account-wide.
Seasonal Artifacts and Seasonal mods will go away at the end of the Season they were introduced in, but mods will eventually be added back into the game.
