#2: Available Content: Expansions, Seasons, and More

New Light Tutorial Mission

Once you've chosen your class and selected your character's appearance, your journey begins with a very important cinematic that serves as an introduction to the Destiny universe and the ongoing narrative. We suggest watching it!

Afterwards, you'll begin your very first mission by waking up after your long slumber and meeting Ghost, your most valuable ally in the entirety of the game and your connection to the powers of the Light. Ghost will teach you the basics of being a Guardian during an introductory mission and up until you meet Shaw Han.

Shaw Han is a Hunter who will guide you through New Light, the tutorial quest for Destiny 2. Although it’s skippable, it’s probably a good idea to complete it if this is your first time playing an FPS title or a Destiny game.

At the Tower

After completing your first mission arc, you will arrive at the Tower. This is the main hub of the game where you’ll meet other characters from the Destiny universe. You’ll be able to interact with other players who will be in this social space as well as with several vendors who will have gear, quests, and much more, available to you. Your vault, where you can store your loot, is also accessible in the Tower!

One of the first vendors we recommend you visit is Ikora Rey. She resides in the Bazaar and will offer you some initial character class builds to use. These builds are perfect for getting started and include Exotic gear that will boost your capabilities. Choose wisely!
