Legacy Support for Destiny 1 Activities

Destiny 1 will no longer receive planned game updates or content. Destiny 1 content through Destiny: Rise of Iron will continue to be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Consoles, however players will have limited access to some Destiny 1 Activities. Please see below for more information on the Destiny 1 Activities that will continue to be available.

Destiny 1 Activities

Daily and Weekly Resets

Reset times are subject to change during Daylight Savings Time:
  • Reset will be at 2:00 AM Pacific (9:00 AM UTC) while Daylight Saving Time is active from March to November
  • Reset will be at 1:00 AM Pacific  (9:00 AM UTC) while Daylight Saving Time is inactive from November to March

Weekly Story Playlist

The Weekly Story Playlist is a PvE activity that can be accessed from the Featured Activities pane in the Director.
  • Each week the Story Playlist will feature between 5 and 10 Story Activities
  • Some rewards are on lockouts that reset weekly per Character
  • Requires Rise of Iron

Strikes Playlists

Strikes are PvE activities that are located throughout various in-game destinations, as well as in several playlists located in the Vanguard section of the Director.
  • All Strikes are matchmaking enabled, with the exception of the Nightfall or some Quest-related Strikes
  • Some rewards for the Strikes Playlists are on lockouts that reset weekly per Character or Account

Nightfall Strike

The Nightfall Strike is an end-game PvE activity that can be accessed from the Featured Activities pane in the Director.
  • The Nightfall Strike does not have matchmaking enabled
  • Rewards for the Nightfall Strike are on lockouts that reset weekly per Character

Crucible Playlists

Crucible Playlists are PvP activities that can be accessed from the Featured Activities pane or the Crucible section of the Director.
  • All Crucible Playlists have matchmaking enabled
  • Some rewards for Crucible Playlists are on lockouts that reset weekly per Character or Account

Private Matches

Private Matches are a PvP activity that can be accessed from the Crucible section of the Director.
  • Private Matches do not have matchmaking enabled
  • There are no rewards associated with Private Matches

Raids and Challenges Modes

Raids are end-game PvE activities that are located throughout the various in-game destinations.
  • Raids do not have matchmaking enabled
  • Each Raid contains progression checkpoints
  • All Raid rewards are on a weekly lockout per checkpoint per Character per difficulty mode
  • Completing a Raid checkpoint on Hard mode first will earn both the Normal and Hard mode loot rewards for the week
  • Some Raid encounters have Challenge Modes that provide rewards and are on separate weekly lockouts
  • The Challenge Modes of the Weekly Featured Raid will provide special rewards

Prison of Elders and Challenge of Elders

The Prison of Elders and Challenge of Elders Arenas are PvE activities located within the Reef.
  • Level 28 Arena: Matchmaking enabled, requires House of Wolves
  • Level 32 Arena: No matchmaking, requires House of Wolves, reward lockouts reset weekly per Character
  • Level 34 Arena: No matchmaking, requires House of Wolves, reward lockouts reset weekly per Character
  • Level 35 Arena - Skolas' Revenge: No matchmaking, requires House of Wolves, reward lockouts reset weekly per Character
  • Level 41 Arena: Matchmaking enabled, requires The Taken King, some reward are on lockouts that reset weekly per Character
  • Level 42 - Challenge of Elders: No matchmaking, requires The Taken King, requires Elder's Sigil from Variks in the Reef, reward lockouts reset weekly per Character

Armsday Foundry Orders and Test Weapons

Armsday Foundry Orders and Test Weapons can be accessed from the Gunsmith in the Tower.
  • Players can place Foundry Orders after the Wednesday daily reset and before the Sunday daily reset
  • Fulfilled Foundry Orders can be redeemed at the Gunsmith starting the following Armsday which begins after the Wednesday daily reset

Xûr, Agent of the Nine

Xûr will continue to appear in the Tower or the Reef.

Unavailable Destiny 1 Activities

Live Events

Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, and other Live Events are no longer be available in Destiny 1. Live Events are limited-time Destiny event that can include specific playlists, Quests, Bounties, or Rewards. Examples of previous Live Events are the Festival of the Lost, Crimson Days, or the Sparrow Racing League.
