Report Suspected Cheating and Poor Behavior – Bungie Help

This article outlines the process for reporting suspected cheating and other poor player behavior.

Bungie takes the reports of suspected cheating very seriously. We use these reports and our own tools to investigate players who may be manipulating network connections and other forms of cheating or violations of Bungie's Terms of Use. See below for more information about reporting suspected cheating and other forms of poor player behavior.

Posting the names of players on our forums you believe to be cheating is a violation of our Code of Conduct and may result in a forum ban because our Security Team does not monitor our forums. Players should use the contact form below to report any suspected cheating.

Report Suspected Cheating Contact Form

The most effective way to report a player is through the in-game system as outlined in the “Report a Player” sections. However, players that are unable to submit a report through the in-game system may fill out the Report Player Contact Form with the requested information.

Please be aware of the following prior to submitting a Contact Form:

If you are not confident that a player was cheating, do not use this form.
Many things that may at first appear to involve cheating can be explained by other things, such as unintentional poor internet connectivity.
Abuse of this contact form may result in account restrictions.
Fraudulent reports and submissions unrelated to cheating may result in a restriction or ban on your account.
All contact forms submissions are used for data collection purposes and to investigate potential player-facing issues. The form submissions are automatically sorted and are not guaranteed to be read or responded to by a Bungie employee.

The following items can be beneficial to investigations. Please provide them if you are able to:

Post-Game Carnage Report (PGCR)
Links to Videos or Captures of game-play that showcase cheating
Other evidence that would indicate that a player is cheating

Reporting Other Player Behavior

Players can use either in-game methods or Bungie.net to report poor behavior, malicious communications, or any content that breaks the Code of Conduct.

Please see below for more information on how to report a player.

Players can be reported during competitive matches, strikes, and other activities or shared spaces from the Roster tab.

Navigate to the Roster tab

Destiny 2: Open the Director and navigate to the Roster tab
Destiny 1: Open the Character screen and navigate to the Roster tab

Select the nameplate of the player in question and open "Details"

Choose the "Report Player" option

Select the appropriate report reason

Players from your last match, strike, or other activity can be reported using the Previous Results screen.

While in Orbit, open the "Previous Results" screen

Use the button press described in the bottom right of the Orbit screen

Select the nameplate of the player in question

Open "Details"

Choose the “Report Player” option

Select the appropriate report reason

Users can also report players and clans on Bungie.net through their Game History page.

Find the game with the player to be reported and tap the title
Find and tap the player's name (you may need to click the “Opponents Defeated” tab)
Tap the “Report Player” button
Select the appropriate report reason and tap the “Send Report" button

Game History Terms of Use

Players can use either in-game or Bungie.net methods to access a player’s Clan profile and report it for any content that violates the Code of Conduct.

In-game:

Open the Director and navigate to the Roster tab
Select the nameplate of the player in question and open “Details”
Choose the "Inspect Clan" option
In the upper right, click the diamond-shaped Report Clan icon
Select the appropriate report reason

On Bungie.net:

Navigate to the Clan Page
Click the "Report Clan" button
Select the appropriate report reason

Clans Guide Code of Conduct

To report a player violating the Code of Conduct in Destiny Text or Voice Chat, follow the steps from the “Report Player from Roster” tab in this article and choose the report reason “Abusive Chat” for text or "Verbal Abuse" for voice.
