Error Downloading PS4 Required Content Files

Players using the PlayStation 4 version of Destiny 2 may need to download compatibility files for the game to run on their PlayStation Console. If players experience issues while downloading these compatibility files, they can refer to our troubleshooting steps below.

 

Disconnection While Installing

If the connection is interrupted during the download of the required content packages, the download will be put into a paused state and the error code BOAR will appear. Once your connection is restored, you can follow these steps to resume your installation:

PlayStation 4

    1. Navigate to the Notifications tab or the Add-Ons section located below the main PS4 system Dashboard.
    2. Locate any packages with the “Cannot Download” message.
    3. Select each package and choose "Resume" from the dropdown menu.

PlayStation 5 if Using the PS4 Version of Destiny 2

    1. Press the Home button on the PS5 controller and navigate to the Downloads/Uploads section of the tool bar at the bottom of the PS5 system Dashboard.
      • This toolbar will have a small red exclamation mark near it to show that the download did not complete.
    2. Select the Downloads/Uploads section of this toolbar to view current downloads.
    3. Select each "Can't Install" package with a red exclamation mark and choose "Resume" from the dropdown menu.

 

Check if Files Are Installed

PlayStation 4

    1. Highlight the Destiny 2 tile on the Dashboard and press down on the PS4 controller to view the game's details.
      • If in the Library, select the Destiny 2 tile to open the game's details.
    2. Select the "PlayStation Store" menu item on left-side to focus on the Add-Ons List.
    3. Select the "Your Add-Ons" option.
    4. A list will appear that will indicate which "Required Content" packages are installed, providing a download button for any not installed.

PlayStation 5 if Using the PS4 Version of Destiny 2

    1. Highlight the Destiny 2 tile in the Dashboard or Library.
    2. Press the Options button on the PS5 controller and select the "Manage Game Content" option.
    3. A list will appear that will indicate which "Required Content" packages are installed, providing a download button for any not installed.
